Reflections on 2016

A quick reflection on 2016. Its personally been an extremely creatively fulfilling period in my life with the completion at the start of the year of my first solo record and going on to release it. I spent all year rehearsing with a new set of musicians for my debut solo show which you guys sold out for me ! (THANKS) It was the best show of my life and I’m excited to repeat it many more times in 2017 and beyond. The passing of so many musical heroes this year has given much pause for thought and reflecting on everything from questioning the point of this all to the opposite extreme of feeling truly inspired. Songwriting is a constant pleasure and a burden that if I didn’t (should’ve) already known is the reason I’m here and so I’m very grateful to be able to “not get a proper job” and continue to make music for myself and for all of you who enjoy what I do. 2016 was an achievement if only for the fact that its the first time I’ve managed to release a record the same year it was completed (unlike I ever managed with the band) ! I intend to turn this into a trend in 2017 and will bring out more music than ever. The follow up to Exit Brain Left is well under way and I’m really excited by the demos I’ve got down so far. Exploring new horizons and lyrical bliss is a place I love to inhabit.
