Deep into making the new record: thoughts for the day.

I hope I’m alive when they invent the format where fans can just plug into the artists brain and hear it exactly as intended.
Often times my demo of a song is for me still the definitive version of the song, even though is often awful it always has the spark of the initial idea that can’t be recreated.
For example: I’ve a song on my first solo album called Nine Miles Of Light which has a mix revision number of 23 times! I know I was searching for it to sound exactly like the awful demo I made walking round Berlin for 7 days. Thats not to say I’m not happy with every record I’ve made. I really am.
I just think the record in your head is never 100% the record you release. For me its probably around the high 90%’s.
Happy New Year, keep safe
